If you are over 25 or 30 years old you might remember what marketing was like on the Internet twelve years ago. It was all new and the people that got involved and stuck it out, and figured out what they were doing, made huge sums of money. I used to tell people that the Internet was like a large library with no library cards to tell you where anything was. There was lots of information there but no one knew where to find it. Well, Google changed all of that. Now all you have to do when you think of something you want to know, or find something you want to buy, you type some keywords into Google’s search bar and presto, what you need or want is right at your finger tips. The people that tapped into that process early on with ad campaigns, pay per click campaigns and marketing and affiliate marketing websites, grew huge businesses.
Well, there’s a new game in town and believe it or not, it’s now 5 times bigger than what the Internet was then. Mobile Phones! There are currently over 5 billion cell phone users worldwide. There are only 1.8 billion people that have Internet access, even today. Fifty One Million of these cell phone users have smart phones, mini-computers. They are carrying the Internet around in their pocket and can access it any time they want to. In fact, did you know that cell phone users look at their cell phone over 103 billion times per day. Just think for a minute, what if your sales message was right there on their phone whenever they looked. Do you think that would be powerful?
Granted some people don’t really like the idea of ads on their phone every time they pick it up, including me, but done right and in the right circumstance, I thinks it’s great. And so do a lot of other people. There are a select few pioneers who have figured it out. They have harnessed the technology and figured out what works and what doesn’t. They are running successful ad marketing campaigns on cell phones. Consumers are clicking on the ads and the marketing campaigns are hugely successful. Right now what works best are ads on smartphones because of the advanced technology. Remember, there’s 51 million of those people. Wow, what a market!
What’s even better is that some of the people who have it figured out have realized that there is plenty of room for other people and they are sharing what they have learned with those who are interested and willing to listen. Both Google and Apple are convinced the potential is huge. Google just paid $750 Million for Admob, a company that specializes in mobile phone ad marketing. Since Apple got beat out for the purchase of Admob, they decided to start their own mobile ad marketing company. Both of these companies obviously see the potential and are spending big bucks to get with the program.
If you are already in Affiliate Marketing or you are thinking about it, the time to act is now. The ad marketing world is getting on board with cell phones. Those that get involved now, are in the right place at the right time. Make the move now to Mobile Ad Marketing. The future is bright and there will be lots of money made.
