When you’re filling up your fuel tank or stuck in a traffic jam, have you ever thought that there must be an easier way to make your car more cost effective? Well believe it or not, there are now many companies that will pay you a regular monthly sum to allow them to advertise on your car. In the UK for example you can earn up to £220 a month if you are prepared to completely cover your car with an advertising wrap.
Until recently, to advertise on a vehicle it had to be permanently & expensively sprayed. This did not lend itself to private vehicles so only public transport, company vehicles and lorries had adverts on them. New technology has allowed high quality vinyl graphic images to be placed easily and cost-effectively on cars; from panel ads to complete “wraps” of the vehicle. These images are removable, replaceable and not only don’t damage paintwork, but actually protect it by preventing much of the everyday damage inflicted on the car’s paintwork such as abrasion and UV fading.
You can choose from varying degrees of advertising coverage:
- Your whole vehicle is covered except the windscreen. A special transparent vinyl is used on the other windows so all-round visibility remains the same as normal.
- Doors, side-panels, bonnet and rear of the vehicle are covered
- Coverage of door panels and part wings along with a visual on bonnet and/or rear
- Minimal covering where only the rear window is covered.
You don’t even need to have a brand new car. Whilst advertisers want their adverts to be seen on vehicles that are in reasonable condition, this need only mean that vehicles less than six or seven years old are more likely to be selected than older vehicles.
Alternatively, some companies offer you the chance to drive a new car. If you are selected you can enjoy driving a new car for a small amount per month without any initial deposit, including assistance, maintenance, radio, check-ups and one year full cover insurance free.
Some advertisers may insist on cars that are under a year or two years old, whilst others consider criteria such as your location, age, occupation or regular journey pattern to be more important than the age or type of car you drive. You’ll also need your car to be cleaned regularly.
Once a month you should expect to have your car inspected in order to confirm that your car has covered the required mileage and is clean and undamaged. As a rough guide, a minimum mileage of at least 500 miles a month is required.
